Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land was held for the first time in 2009. On 7, 8, 9 August 2009, the likes of Mr. Big, Mew, Mêlée, Vertical Horizon, Third Eye Blind, Secondhand Serenade, Slank, /rif, Superman is Dead, Gigi, Special Project Tribute to Immortal Legends, Killed by Butterfly, Beside, Navicula and a number of other excellent rock groups rocked the stages and attracted approximately 46,000 audience. It was a great start for the first international-class rock festival in Indonesia.

The pre-events of Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009 were held in 4 cities and attracted 22,000 visitors, clearly exhibiting the rock genre's allure and substantial fanbase in Indonesia. It is no wonder that regeneration of the genre's musicians and bands continue to evolve, some of which even succeeded to penetrate the international market.

A few special notes from Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009:
• The unfortunate news of Indonesia's security-related events did not hinder musicians and rock enthusiasts to attend Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009.
• Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2009 received steady inquiries of interest from foreign enthusiasts of the genre, including agents and international event organizer.
• Indonesian bands and rock musicians were in no way dwarfed by international rock bands' presence. A number of the non-Indonesian bands' managers even took the time to record the performances of some Indonesian rock bands.
• Both international and Indonesian musicians and rock music enthusiasts revelled in the festival's lively ambiance.
• The 2009 edition of the festival was concrete proof that a rock event can be held smoothly and safely.
• A lot of Indonesia's rock music enthusiasts who rarely got to witness their favorite bands live in action, were able to do so without significant hassle.
• Those who enjoyed the Festival (and there were many of them), were already looking forward to Java Rockin'land's next instalment.

Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2010 is the answer provided by Java Festival Production (JFP) to the rock enthusiasts' intense request for the rock music party's continuity. The Road to the Rock Festival

Since May 2010, the JFP team has been preparing to hold Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2010. This year, the festival is scheduled for early October, as during August 2010, most of Indonesia would be preparing for the fasting month. For that reason, the dates 8, 9 and 10 October 2010 are considered most appropriate for the decibels of a rock festival.

A number of preparations have been carried out, from contacting the international bands, brainstorming on the Indonesian bands to be featured and establishing partnerships with sponsors, designing promotion and production plans.

Some renowned international band names were wooed and included in the wish list for Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2010. However, not all efforts bore fruitful results. Some bands opted to fulfill studio time, some find it too taxing to fly to Indonesia, whilst some chose to commit to their own touring plans. In short, there were shortcomings preventing them to perform at the festival this year. Nonetheless, there are also groups who are eager and interested to greet their fans in Indonesia. JFP is presently finalizing contracts with those bands.

Foreign bands that have confirmed to perform at Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2010 are: The Smashing Pumpkins, Stereophonics, Arkarna, Datarock, Di-Rect, Mutemath and Galaxy 7 (from Japan).

From Indonesia, performers included in the wish list are / RIF, Andra & the Backbone, Gugun Blues Shelter, Bagaikan, The Brandals, Saint Loco, Netral, Noxa, SLANK, PAS Band, Koil, Superman is Dead and a long roster of other names.

Reverberation of Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2010

Early bird tickets for Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land 2010 have been available since 1 June 2010 thorugh the festival's website www.javarockingland.com, which was available for access for rock music's enthusiasts from all over.

Starting 16 July 2010, the tickets has become available in a number of ticket boxes, including at Simprug Gallery office complex. The mobile ticket box, catering and offering special prices for students only, will begin circulating mid August 2010.

An addition special 'feature' of the second edition of Gudang Garam InterMusic Java Rockin'land is a BlackBerry application, Java Rockin'land on BlackBerry, which is developed by 7Langit, a premium BlackBerry application developer.

Furthermore, as warm up to the big event, Gudang Garam InterMusic Java
Rockin'land 2010, a series of pre-events will take place in Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta and Medan, on 24 and 25 September, and 1 and 2 October.
