About This Act : |
In early 1996, two years before the Indonesian Punk Resurgence and the destruction of Indonesia economic stability, five teenage friends formed THE SABOTAGE, three years after forming and constant practicing/writing in the studio, THE SABOTAGE were ready following their predecessors to join in the "Still One Still Proud Part II" compilation produced by Movement Records, assuming that there were others that shared their love for aggressive Punk sound. Try to down in to the gigs and each gig found more and more kids who shared their views on the current music, and as the band grew so did their following. Over the next two years after SOSP II and other more compilation tape release, they released the first full length album called Anarchy Still Alive 2001 produce by Strike records. Until now they still continued the practice, writing, and show at the gigs in Jakarta and other city in Indonesia. When you have spiky hair in several colors, 1000 studs on the leatherjacket plus t-shirts n pins with Anticimex, Crass and anarchist symbols you got to play pretty fast, raw political punk right? We thought so but not in this case. The Sabotage, from Jakarta, Indonesia plays a mixture between punk/Oi from 77-82, pretty melodic but the album is 50/50 really. Some tracks we play quite fast and our sound pretty much like Defiance, Exploited and such. The songs aren’t really about having a laugh and enjoying yourself. The lyrics are most about boredom, war, no hope for the future, soldiers and so on. |
